About This Project
Hartford Healthcare is one of the largest and most recognized health systems in Connecticut, with a network of hospitals, outpatient centers, and specialty care facilities across Connecticut. When they needed a landmark sign for their new flagship space at 100 Pearl Street in Hartford, they turned to Sign Pro.
Sign Pro managed the full scope of this project in-house, from structural engineering and design through permitting, fabrication, and high-rise installation. The result is a 19-story illuminated building identification sign that has become one of the most visible landmarks on the Hartford skyline.

The Challenge
HIGH RISE INSTALLATION
Installing a large-format illuminated sign on the 19th story of an active commercial building required precision structural engineering, specialized rigging equipment, and a carefully coordinated installation plan to ensure the safety of workers, building occupants, and the public below.
ACTIVE HEALTHCARE CAMPUS
The project had to be executed with zero disruption to Hartford Healthcare's active operations. All work was scheduled and staged around the building's operational requirements, with strict safety protocols followed throughout.
PERMITTING & COORDINATION
A project of this scale required coordination with the City of Hartford, building ownership, and Hartford Healthcare's facilities team to secure all necessary permits and approvals before a single piece of equipment was lifted.
How Sign Pro Delivered
FULL IN-HOUSE ENGINEERING & FABRICATION
Sign Pro's engineering team designed and engineered the sign structure entirely in-house, ensuring it met all load requirements for a high-rise exterior installation. Every component was fabricated at our 40,000 sq. ft. facility in Plantsville, CT using commercial-grade aluminum, acrylic, and UL-listed LED lighting systems.
Turnkey Permitting & Project Management
Our project management team handled all permitting with the City of Hartford and coordinated directly with building ownership and Hartford Healthcare's facilities department. Sign Pro served as the single point of contact throughout the entire process, keeping the project on schedule and on budget from day one.
High-Rise Installation & Safety
The installation required specialized high-rise rigging equipment and a certified installation crew experienced in elevated exterior sign work. All work was performed following OSHA guidelines and the building's specific safety protocols. The sign was completed on schedule with no incidents and no disruption to building operations.
