CT Moving and Storage approached Sign Pro with the need to rebrand their fleet of 30 vehicles. Having operated since 1972, the company wanted a fresh look that reflected their growth and modern identity. They needed a partner who could not only execute the rebranding but also ensure consistency across their entire fleet, making their trucks recognizable and professional on the road.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Sign Pro worked closely with CT Moving and Storage to create a cohesive branding strategy for their fleet. From stripping and rewrapping each vehicle to designing eye-catching graphics, every detail was aligned with their vision. At Sign Pro, we understand that bringing a historic building back to life isn’t just about new paint and structural repairs. Every detail matters, from the cornices to the intricate facades. That’s why we took great care in preserving the architectural legacy of this site in New Britain, Connecticut.

With the help of advanced technology, and the skilled craftsmanship of our team, particularly Adam, we’ve been able to restore and recreate the building’s original architectural elements. The video showcases how our technology allows us to produce detailed profiles, such as the cornice work and awnings, exactly as they were decades ago.

To ensure every aspect of the project was accurate, we cataloged every piece of the building as we took it down, labeling and saving each section to match it with its original counterpart. This attention to detail ensures that the building's restored version will stay true to its historic charm while meeting modern standards.

The bridge now stands as an iconic 275-foot structure, adorned with stunning sculptures of bees and a centerpiece beehive. But that’s not all—our team also installed cultural lighting that can change colors and themes, adding a dynamic and artistic flair to the bridge.

Our team worked meticulously on these buses, handling the detailed wraps both inside and out. This attention to detail has transformed each bus into a walkthrough ice cream parlor on wheels, delivering an unforgettable experience at private events all over the United States.

At Ice Cream Emergency, it’s not just about serving ice cream—it’s about creating an interactive and fun experience. Deborah and her team, dressed in bright red hospital scrubs, bring joy to events, saving lives "one scoop at a time."

Sign Pro Honors Fallen Bristol Officers with Memorial Display at Bristol Police Headquarters

Recently, we were honored to contribute to a powerful memorial display at the Bristol Police Headquarters, commemorating two brave officers—Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy—who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty on October 12, 2022.

A Tribute To Heros

This memorial, featuring the car doors of a Bristol police cruiser used as a makeshift tribute, stands as a lasting symbol of community support and remembrance for the fallen officers. The car doors, covered with heartfelt messages from the Bristol community, are now on permanent display in the police department’s lobby. This display serves as a touching reminder of the sacrifice these officers made and the enduring bond between the police force and the community they protected.

At Sign Pro, we had the privilege of working closely with the Bristol Police Memorial Committee to help bring this tribute to life. It’s not just about crafting a physical memorial; it’s about honoring the lives, legacies, and the deep impact these officers had on those around them.

Gisella DelBuono Reflects on Her Internship with Sign Pro

Gisella DelBuono is currently a Senior at Central Connecticut State University, where she is majoring in Graphic Design.
After being with Sign Pro’s internship program for sometime, we asked her to reflect on her experience with us.
“I was nervous when I first started. It was my first real job as a graphic designer and I never had too much experience with printing, especially on such a large scale like we do at Sign Pro. I have known about this company for years before I even applied and heard about how big it was getting so I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with everyone who has more experience than I do. I knew I was going to have to push myself to learn everything.
I had three goals during my duration of the internship:

1. Learn more about the printing side of design
2. Gain a broader knowledge of the design software and possibly learn new programs
3. Learn how to design a vehicle wrap

Sign Pro is excited to officially welcome John Haire to our team. Although John joined us in mid-2016, he has now officially relocated from Springfield, MA, where he was born and raised, to Connecticut.
We’re so happy to have John as a member of our team and we are fascinated by the story that got him here. John has always loved art and being a part of the creative process. Early in his career he designed and silkscreened shirts. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, John served our country as a Lance Corporal in the Marines. During the first Gulf War, he toured in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. After the Marines, John went back to school, earned his degree and shifted his career to the insurance industry.

NASCAR Race Car Driver, Joey Logano, Hosts Successful Charity Event

Driving Hope Home

On the morning of July 14th, the heat and humidity didn’t dampen the positive energy at the Southington Country Club. The Joey Logano Foundation hosted a golf charity event, Driving Hope Home, and more than 150 golfers participated in the tournament. Joey Logano, Chairman, and Brittany Logano, Vice-Chair, graciously welcomed the crowd and mingled with guests in a golf cart replica of the Joey Logano Foundation race car. Afterwards, a dinner, car show, and live auction were held to raise money for the event. The Aqua Turf in Plantsville, CT hosted Thursday night’s dinner where there were 500 guests in attendance—double the number from last year. An impressive $210,000 was raised in just one day.

Logano requested Jeffrey Owen Hanson, an artist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, to attend the dinner and auction off two of his paintings. Hanson has a genetic condition called neurofibromatosis, which caused him severe vision loss in 2005, when he was just 12 years old. His diagnosis doesn’t prevent him from creating beautiful artwork though, and his generosity surely doesn’t go unnoticed. In addition to raising $40,000 for Logano’s charity event, Hanson’s paintings have been purchased for charity by celebrities like Sir Elton John, Warren E. Buffett, and Susan Sarandon.

The Joey Logano Foundation was created in May of 2013 and has since issued almost $1,000,000 in grant funding. The foundation’s mission is “to inspire and assemble the NASCAR community to assist those across the nation who are in need of a second chance due to natural or human disaster.” Joey’s compassion and philanthropy is nothing short of extraordinary, and this event demonstrated just that.
As part of the event, Joey Logano presented 18 trophies to the golf tournament winners. He made sure to award the last trophy to his parents, Tom and Deborah Logano, for their endless love and support. Even with all of his success, Joey still remains humble, charitable, and mindful of his roots. Driving Hope Home was presented by Planet Fitness and benefitted the Joey Logano Foundation, The Connection, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CT & Western Massachusetts.

Michael Lange Reflects on His Internship with Sign Pro

Michael Lange is currently an incoming junior at Endicott College, where he is majoring in marketing. Also at Endicott, Michael is an active member of the community. He is a member of the men’s lacrosse team, a member of the dean’s list, works in admissions, and is also on a few boards associated with the school.
After completing his time in Sign Pro’s internship program, we asked him to reflect on his experience with us, and this was his response:
“Working with Sign Pro was my first internship experience. I didn’t know exactly what to expect; was I going to have a role that matters or was I going to be doing coffee runs as you often hear interns doing? On my first day at Sign Pro, I got my answer to this question. Right when I got to work on my first day, I had a meeting with the person that I was shadowing. He asked me what I wanted out of my time with them and he told me what they wanted from me during my time there. I knew then that I would be given roles that mattered and had a lasting effect on the company.

UConn’s Ollie Opens Kevin’s Kourt in Hartford

Sign Pro works with UConn’s Kevin Ollie to Help Open Wheelchair Accessible Court

On Monday June 6, 2016, UConn’s men’s basketball coach, Kevin Ollie, opened his first wheelchair accessible basketball court in Hartford, Connecticut. The court was built at the Asylum Hill Boys & Girls Club, and is the first of its kind. This is no surprise, as Hartford is the first city in the country to start the Boys and Girls Club movement.
Kevin’s Kourt is a basketball court for anyone with disabilities. It features ten different hoops that accommodate a wide variety of disabilities; it is completely wheelchair accessible, providing everyone ease of access. During his speech on Monday, Ollie proudly said, “This is our gift to the city of Hartford.”

A Partnership Designed For A Bright Future

This year represents a significant milestone for Pete and Suzanne Rappoccio and the entire Sign Pro team. It’s the celebration of our 25 year anniversary and also a time to pay tribute to our humble beginnings. Many years ago, Pete saw an opportunity to redefine the signage industry. Thus, Sign Pro was born, right out of his bedroom in his parents’ house. From day one Pete strongly emphasized quality and service in every aspect of Sign Pro’s business. With hard work came success and a recent expansion into a new 40,000 square foot facility.
From the beginning Pete has been committed to giving back to his local Connecticut community and he recently learned of a partnership that he simply couldn’t pass up.
Pete was introduced to Pastor John Muratori by a mutual friend. John is the founder of Swag Custom Rides, the first and only non-profit car shop in America. To call this shop ordinary would be an understatement. The Swag team is made up of troubled adults who may have a history of addiction or incarceration. John has more than 20 years of experience working at one of the largest rehabilitation facilities in the country and also a personal passion for restoring vehicles.
Swag was created with a mission of restoring vehicles and transforming lives. By teaching his crew how to restore vehicles, John gives them real life skills and an opportunity to change their lives. At Swag, it’s more than just work. The team huddles once a week to talk about life and developing a work ethic where they can deal with stress and anger without turning back to their addictions.
When Pete and John learned of each other’s missions, they knew there was a unique partnership in the making. The Rappocios belief in Swag was so strong that they wanted to give back by sharing business advice, support and much more.
“Pete and Suzanne believed in us, maybe even more than we believed in ourselves. Their generous donation of a portion of the sale price of the old Sign Pro building enabled us to purchase the shop. We have relocated from our 1,500 square foot space to Sign Pro’s old stomping ground of 15,000 square feet. We strongly believe that the prior success experienced in this shop will lead to our future success here”, said Muratori.
Rappoccio mentioned that there has been so much national interest in the mission of Swag that a reality show may be in the makings! Reality show filming was recently produced and is under review with several networks. This would be a huge win for the City of New Britain and Rappoccio was delighted to be a part of it.
“This partnership goes well beyond business advice and financial support,” said Rappoccio. “John and his team continue to teach me and my team important life lessons about how to successfully balance a fast paced environment, at work and at home.”
And the future is bright for both organizations. With two innovative approaches – one in the signage industry and one in the custom car market – Sign Pro and Swag Custom Rides are excited to partner on unique graphics, vehicle wraps and even vehicle lighting effects.
The Rappoccios have also given the Swag team their first project to be completed at the new facility. Sign Pro provided a 1954 Chevrolet pick-up truck that the Swag team will restore to the Rappoccios vision of a company truck. The new Sign Pro truck is expected to debut in Spring 2016.
